LinkDish is an Android recipe app made by Robert Gordon. This page is where you can ask for your LinkDish account and its data to be deleted. You do not need the app installed, and you do not need to sign in here.
Delete it in the app (fastest)
Open LinkDish, go to Account, and choose Delete account. Deletion starts right away.
Delete it by email
If you can't get into the app, email support@linkdish.ca from the email address on your LinkDish account, with the subject line "Delete my account". We'll confirm from that address and delete the account.
We aim to complete a request within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
What gets deleted
- Your LinkDish account and sign-in records.
- Your synced cookbook and the recipes, notes, favourites, tags, ratings, collections and cook log stored with it.
- Your Family household membership, invite records, and any recipes you added to a shared Family cookbook.
- If you own a Family household, deleting your account doesn't close it for the others. It passes to the member who has been in it longest. Your own shared recipes and shopping list items go, and everything the others added stays. If the new owner doesn't have a Family plan, each remaining member gets a copy of the shared recipes in their own cookbook, as long as their cookbook has room. A copy made that way stays with the person who received it, even if you delete your account later. If you were the last member, the household closes. Either way, save anything you want to keep before you delete.
- Analytics records linked to your account.
- Crash reports can't be traced back to you, so there is nothing to look up there.
What is kept, and for how long
- Backups. Deleted data can stay in our ordinary backups for up to 90 days until backups are rotated, and then it's gone. We don't restore deleted accounts from backups.
- Abuse and security records. Basic server logs may be kept for a limited time where needed to prevent abuse or investigate a security issue.
- Records we're required to keep by law. If the law requires us to keep something, such as a purchase record, we keep only that and only for as long as required.
- A record that the account was deleted. We keep a stripped record with no email address, name or avatar, marked as deleted, so we can show the deletion was carried out.
Two things deletion does not do
- It does not cancel a subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Google Play, or by our web checkout. Cancel in Google Play, or through the billing portal opened from LinkDish, or you'll keep being charged.
- It does not delete recipes saved on a device you still have. Those live on your phone. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes them.
