- Lay the page flat and fill the frame with the recipe
- Use daylight or a bright kitchen light, without glare
- Recipe runs over two pages? Add up to 4 photos to one scan
- Check the result and fix anything that reads oddly
What happens to your photos
Photos you choose to scan are sent to LinkDish so the recipe can be read, including by the extraction providers LinkDish uses for this. They are used to make your recipe, not for advertising.

Can LinkDish read handwritten recipes?
Often, yes, as long as the writing is clear and the photo is sharp. Always check the result, and edit anything that was misread.
Can one recipe use more than one photo?
Yes. Add up to 4 photos to a single scan for recipes that run across pages.
Where can I scan recipes?
In the LinkDish Android app and in the web app, including the web app on iPhone.
Can I scan a screenshot from Instagram?
Yes. Instagram links can't be imported directly yet, but a screenshot of the recipe text can be scanned like any other photo.
